Current Degradation and Coupling Losses in Ring Shaped Wires due to Applied Magnetic Field Changes

چکیده
AbstmctThe stationary electric field and current distribution in a ring shaped wire subject to both parallel and perpendicular applied magnetic fields is calculated. The time derivative of the parallel field is limited for the centre of the wire to be unsaturated. The transient response of an infinitely long wire due to a parallel applied magnetic field BA shows that BA itself is limited for the centre of the wire to be unsaturated. The measured V-I characteristic of a ring shaped wire is linear dependent on the frequency of the applied field but non linear dependent on the amplitude. This means that the stationary analysis is not complete and tranrient effects must be considered.

Novel Methods for Themeasurement of the Critical Current of Superconducting Wires
The critical current as a function of magnetic field of superconducting wires is commonly measured using about 60 mm short straight, or U-shaped samples, or about 1 m long samples on helical mandrels (so-called ITER barrels). The ITER barrel is designed for low to medium currents, but is commonly modified for high current wires. This often results in increased complexity, errors from reacted sa...

In this study the effect of magnetic Reynolds number variation on magnetic distribution of natural convection heat transfer in an enclosure is numerically investigated. The geometry is a two dimensional enclosure which the left wall is hot, the right wall is cold and the top and bottom walls are adiabatic. Fluid is molten sodium with Pr=0.01 and natural convection heat transfer for Rayleigh num...

In this study, a set of self-consistent coupled-integral equations for the local magnetic flux and current distributions in a finite superconducting hollow cylinder under an axial magnetic field has been directly derived by using the Biot-Savart law within the framework of the critical-state model. The equations were first solved numerically in the three-dimensional space before obtaining the h...

The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new technique for row spacing measurement in a wire array using giant magnetoresistive (GMR) sensor. The self-rectifying property of the GMR-based probes leads to accurately detection of the magnetic field fluctuations caused by surface-breaking cracks in conductive materials, shape-induced magnetic anisotropy, etc. The ability to manufacture probes h...
